Healthy hair
Written by Gema
Keeping hair healthy is one of the most difficult challenges these days, even with all the progress in the cosmetic industry and the innovative products that promise to leave your hair as if it had never been treated. This is due, in my opinion to several fundamental factors:
1. Lack of knowledge of the type of hair and therefore of the products to be used
2. Habits that go against hair
It is true that there are four types of hair if we speak roughly (dry, greasy, normal or mixed) this categories are a little general because the hair is also classified according to its structure, density, texture, and many other more characterizations, but after some years making consultations with my clients I realized that the easiest way to advise a product for hair care is by its visible, physical appearance and not so much by the internal part of it. Having said that, I would like to clarify that all the other characteristics of the hair do not cease to be important and decisive, especially when a chemical process is going to be carried out. But at this moment we will only worry about the physical aspect or the external care!
Leaving the above clear we will categorize your hair, I will make a brief description within each category and you will choose the one that mostly identifies your hair, after you know what kind of hair you have, you will see the products that I recommend for your care:
Greasy hair:
- it is a hair in most cases, of dark color
- in most cases its normal or thick structure
- the person feels oily the area of scalp after two days of washing
Dry hair:
- it is a hair in the largest cases of light color or with discoloration
- has normal or fine structure
- the person can go a week without washing and never has an oily appearance
Normal hair:
- it can be light or dark in color
- fine or thick structure
- the person feels oily in the area of the scalp after three to four days without washing
Mixed hair:
- it is a hair, in most cases, of dark color with some process of discoloration
- has normal or thick structure
- the person feels oily the area of the scalp after two or three days of washing, but nevertheless the rest of the hair continues to look good for a longer time
Many times we change hair type depending on several factors, if we change the color of the hair, if we perform some chemical process such as a discoloration or some type of straightening, all these factors will make of one type of hair move to another.
For example, a person with normal hair who is adapted to washing their hair two times a week after having a discoloration in the ends of the hair changed the group because now they would have mixed hair.
Another example a person with a totally discolored hair used to washing their hair once a week decided to dye their hair to its natural dark color and after a while their hair stopped being dry.
